This week, we edited the video we recorded in week 3, using Abode Rush, as well as use other software this lesson in relation to what we recorded.

Starting off, we synced up the video with the audio, which involved correctly pairing up the audio and video together, and then syncing in together, by identifying the clap sync and cutting away the excess video and audio. Then, we learnt the basics of editing and navigating Rush, which I was familiar with as I have used Premier Pro in the past. Adding jump cuts to different camera angles and adding transition effects to make everything smoother were part of this process.

Another interesting part of the editing experience was learning how to solve problems with technical issues with film and audio. One of our microphones didn’t record any audio, and another microphone continually peaked. This is how we worked around these issues:

· Scrapping lost audio

· Having backup microphones that recorded in case this happened

· Balancing the audio so it doesn’t sound unbalanced (microphones were aimed at certain instruments)

Unfortunately, due to my adobe rush trail ending earlier than I had thought, I can’t get the footage that I had edited to link back for this blog post, however I have some photos of our camera, lighting and microphone set-up to show how we ended up getting all the footage.
